Sometimes one of the beautiful experiences of viewing my mandalas from a distance is the inability of the viewer to truly see what is being displayed. In the insect series of mandalas the creatures are overlapped and rotated to create the symmetry geometry.
In several mandalas in the mosquito series I have introduced a drop of red and a thin border of red to remind the viewer of the blood sucking nature of these creatures. The thin red line in the border would be about the thickness of blood as the mosquito sucks blood from a victim up its proboscis.
There is beauty in even the most despicable creatures. Now how to interplay the meanings???
