Photographing rust is a project I began several years ago. The oxidation of iron found in many natural and man-made objects are beautiful and rich with texture and color. We see the same objects everyday and sometimes miss the eloquence of their bloom. The slow decay of rust flakes and separates layers of paint and patina. With the right light and viewpoint the richness of the substance can be seen not for its common colors but for the beauty and diverse forms.
Rust bubbles up, runs down walls and eats away at the thickest and thinest of man-made objects. Enjoy the view even if the images appear abstract or out of context.
